THE COMMITTEES OF COUNCIL
Ad-Hoc Committee:
The purpose of the Ad-Hoc committee shall be to monitor all issues presented to it that are not covered under other committees.
Economic Development Committee:
The purpose of the Economic Development committee is to work with the Village to promote economic development, growth, and monitor issues related to Economic Development.
Finance / Insurance Committee:
The purpose of the Finance committee shall be to monitor all issues pertaining to Village finances and all insurance issues in the Village.
Personnel Committee:
The purpose of the Personnel is to assist in the formulation of personnel issues to guide the Village.
Safety Committee:
The purpose of the Safety committee shall be to monitor all issues pertaining to the Police Department and safety of the Village.
Streets & Sidewalks Committee:
The purpose of the Streets & Sidewalks committee shall be to monitor all issues pertaining to the design, construction and maintenance of all streets, alleys, bridges and sidewalks within the Village.
Utilities Committee:
The purpose of the Utilities committee shall be to monitor all issues pertaining to electric, water and sanitary/storm sewer matters.

Dave Adams grew up in the greater Toledo area. Dave attended Rogers High School and then went on to attend Owen’s Technical College. Dave and his wife Sue are parents to daughter Bailee and son Grant.
Dave is a Project Manager for Poggemeyer Design Group. In his spare time, Dave enjoys spending time with family and friends in addition to watching his children participate, for Genoa, in many different sporting events.
Dave was elected to Council in 2000 and has served nearly nine years for the citizens of the Village of Genoa. Dave currently is the Chairperson to the Finance/Insurance Committee and sits on the Economic Development Committee and the Income Tax Review Board.

Darryl was born in Fenton, Michigan but was raised in Northwest Ohio. Darryl attended Genoa High School. Darryl and his wife Sharon are kept busy with their children: daughter Julie Rose and son Richard Bittner. Darryl is also the proud step-father to Lisa Spaulding, Michelle Smith, and Ronald Potridge.
Darryl was elected to Genoa Council in 1997. Darryl currently is the chairperson of the Safety Committee and is the Council Representative to Board of Trustees, Allen-Clay Joint Fire District. Darryl also serves on the Streets & Sidewalks Committee; the Personnel Committee; and as an alternate council person of the Ottawa County Regional Planning Committee. In 2007, Darryl was elected to President of Council.
Darryl works on this Council to help the Village of Genoa, and to protect the interests of the citizens of the Village. To ensure this, Darryl has been on every committee, save one, in the 11 years since he was elected to Council. He would like to thank the citizens of Genoa for electing him, and trusting him with this position.

The Genoa Council consists of a legislative body of six members. Four of the members are up for election in a single year. The remaining two members are up for election two years later. Once elected, each member serves a four-year term.
