Chief Weis was born and raised in Elmore, Ohio. He currently resides in Oak Harbor with his wife, Kim and his two daughters, Nicole and Alexa. He is a graduate of Woodmore High School. He went on to receive his Associate Degree in Law Enforcement, and Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Toledo. He is also a graduate of PELC, (Police Executive Leadership College), in Columbus, Ohio. Chief Weis was appointed Chief of Police for the Village of Genoa in May,2014. Prior to his appointment he was a police officer for the City of Toledo for thirty seven years. At the time of his retirement from the Toledo Police Department he was the Acting Deputy Chief in charge of the Investigative Services Bureau. During his tenure with the Toledo Police Department he was assigned to the Operations Bureau, Harbor Patrol, Vice-Narcotics Bureau, Backgound Investigations, Internal Affairs, Strategic Response Bureau, and the Gang Task Force. He is also a certified OPOTA Instructor. Chief Weis is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police.
