The Village of Genoa is implementing an Emergency/Safety Messaging System called Nixle.
This system will notify residents who sign up, of alerts the Village and Genoa Police deem necessary to send.

All messages sent will be for safety/emergencies, or important Village related information.
The Village or Police Dept. will not be able to take requests for messages.
Residents have a choice of which TYPE of alert they wish to receive.
Alert Types: Alerts / Advisory / Community
They may also chose how they would like to receive them,
Choice of notification: Email /Text message / or Both
Examples of the types of alerts:
Alerts: Critically important information, Snow, Water, or Electric, “Emergencies”
Advisory: Important need to know information, traffic conditions, road closures, etc.
Community: Special informational messages, these are not time-critical.
There is no cost to the residents for this service. As a government entity Nixle is FREE to the Village, in utilizing email and text alerts for important/emergency information.
You can register three ways;
Sign up at Nixle.com – Select “Resident login” at the top of the page.

Nixle is completely secure – each account shows only half of the phone number used when registering. There are no names, phone numbers, or information of any kind that connects to the resident. This also means the Village is unable to cancel your participation in the Nixle alerts system.

You also have the option to eliminate all text messages under the “Account” tab. Should you wish to completely unsubscribe, simply send an e-mail to email@example.com stating your desire to unsubscribe. Please help us get this message out to residents so they may sign up if they wish.
