Mike Thomas was born in Toledo, Ohio and raised in and around Genoa. Mike attended Genoa High School. After his high school years, Mike went on to attend Owens Community College and the University of Toledo. Mike is now retired after 23 years with Genoa Area Schools.

Mike spends his spare time watching various types of sports activities. Mike started at the Genoa Park as a maintenance person. He was promoted to Assistant Director. He has been the Park Director since 2002, and has been employed at the park for over 30 years.
